We get it now... why The Great Barrier Reef is considered one of "the" places in the world to experience. I am sure Wendy will endeavor to post pictures (she took some beautiful ones from the boat) but we did not take our iPhones snorkeling :) it was my very first time snorkeling and the experience is something I will long remember ... Moving easily with wetsuits and optical goggles through 88 degree water over the white, white sand and variegated, multicolored corals with fish big and little of gorgeous hues, shapes and swimming patterns. I snorkeled morning and afternoon; Wendy went on the semisubmersible boat after lunch for picture-taking.
If the map image shows up in this blog entry, find the little yellow dot at the lower left end of the green reef. It is our little patch of sand from which we snorkeled!
I wish we could convey what a glorious day it was, on Michaelmas Cay, a part of Michaelmas Reef. Maybe you can Google some pictures of it!
